Hyatt 48 Lex (Lexington Avenue) New York

From Jan.2nd to Jan.4th, 2014 I went to New York City for shot museum trip and sightseeing. My main goal was to see Special Korean exhibition (Shilla) at the Met, which was fantastic.

This was my 4th Hyatt in New York City after having visited Andaz 5th Ave, Andaz Wall Street, and Grand Hyatt New York.

Room rate was reasonable again for early new year ($220 plus tax per night) if you consider crazy rate for new year's day.

I took Accela express from Boston to New York, and this was the first sight I saw as soon after I got out of Penn Station.

i guess there was some special event going on somewhere, so there was an advertisement.

I stayed at 1901, which I did not get any upgrades. I was amazed to notice that there was a dish cleaner in the room.

Unfortunately, the fridge was full of beverages that I could not fit my own stuff

nice size room if you consider this is in NYC

NO bath

comfy bed

nice working area

in front of 48 Lex, there is Lexington hotel, which I could make an eye-contact with guests in the morning.

location is perfect and lots of hotels are located in Lexington Avenue near Hyatt

Lexincon Lounge is free for all customers. It has water, coffee, and some drinks to enjoy, and sometimes oranges and cheese. But, do not expect to be like a Regency Club

quick move

the Met was pack of people, but it is always nice to visit there.

Times Square is about 15 minutes walk from the hotel, and Rockefeller Center and building are about 10 minutes walk. First major winter storm approached New York on Jan.3 morning which made traveling harder and colder. However, the street was pack of people.

You can see Chrysler building from the avenue

On Lexington Avenue, there are Marriott, InterContinental New York, W New York, Lexington hotel, and DoubleTrees by Hilton. Lots of hotels around Hyatt 48 Lex. It is just across from InterContinental.

W New York (Not Times Square)

Mariott

on second day, I went to tks booth in Times Square to buy a ticket for Broadway, and I decided to see Jersey Boys (about $106 per person, in the middle row of orchestra section)

I never heard of the Four Seasons band before, but Jersey Boys was so good!! I highly recommend you to watch it if you have spare of time in NYC. I personally thought it was way better than Wicked.

Just off from Brooklyn Bridge station (line 4,5,6)

first time to walk across the Brooklyn Bride. Gosh! this thing is super long and old!!!

Overlooking Financial District

arrived in Brooklyn. Overlooking Manhattan Bridge.

i personally really liked this view.

New York City is always fun to visit, and Hyatt in NYC is all decent and friendly. Even though the weather was harsh, sightseeing New York, especially Broadway and Central Park are always so fun!!!
